Café BODEGA (formerly Sweet Water Café) came under new ownership in 2017. With it, came the inevitable identity crisis. After working Café BODEGA through the brand identity workshops, we were finally able to pull out the authentic story of Café BODEGA and apply that to their new branding.

Café BODEGA is a farm to table restaurant and bar with a purpose and promise to source their ingredients from local farmers, directly from the farmers themselves. Full dsiclosure, my girlfriend owns Café BODEGA, but that means she listens to my advice… most of the time anyway. 😉

A consistent branding message and defined target audience will set your business on the right track.

THE LOGO

Visually staying in stride with their new slogan “Keep It Local, Keep It Fresh” – clean lines with quiet but bold visuals were key to their branded look.

THE MENU

BODEGA’s menu needed to be easy to digest (pun intended) and tell the clear story of their farm to table promise. 

THE WEBSITE

Incorporating brand voice and tone throughout the website, we integrated a full menu and optimized for mobile displays. This increased unique website visitors by just over 600%!

SOCIAL MEDIA

BODEGA’s social media presence got a complete overhaul with optimized platforms, consistent content and customized targeted audiences. Starting with an organic strategy, we built up momentum for the brand across Facebook and Instagram. Once we had consistent momentum in reach and engagement we started implementing aggressive social advertising campaigns that eventually grew into a steady paid strategy increasing engagement and reach by 934%!

APPAREL

Two kinds of apparel graphics were made, both intended for staff and customers. One is a straightforward implementation of the logo, which became the common attire for staff on the clock. The other is a line design graphic created to bring attention to the lively bar scene. Each design stayed within the branding guidelines, while still influencing two completely different feelings and tones.

ON-SITE

Finally, we implemented the new branding throughout the restaurant to encourage brand recall and consistency.
